Make Sure You Do this One Important Task this Fall to Save Your Life!

It is vitally important that you detoxify your major internal organs this fall. Your liver, kidneys, lungs, digestive tract and skin collect toxins every minute of every day. If you do not detoxify, you are setting yourself up for toxic overload which then leads to disease. Be sure to choose a detox supplement that is easy to take, and easy on your system. I formulated VitaDetox for VitaTree Nutritionals to be gentle on the digestive tract, yet extremely effective at cleaning out these organs. Take 2 capsules of VitaDetox, twice daily on an empty stomach. We recommend that you do 3 consecutive months of VitaDetox (6 bottles) if you have never detoxed before, and at least 2 months of VitaDetox (4 bottles)at the change of each season.

Are Your Vitamins Killing You?

Your vitamins may be killing you slowly and you don’t even know it. Most vitamins on the market are synthetically made from chemicals. Our body does not recognize these nutrients and therefore needs to detoxify them. What you may not realize is that taking conventional multi-vitamins and minerals from a synthetic source can have a negative effect on your cellular function. This can translate into cancer and other serious chronic diseases. Make sure you take a whole food multivitamin. The label on your vitamin must say 100% whole food vitamin. If it doesn’t, you may be putting your health, and your family’s health at risk.

To maintain a healthy prostate gland, men need to ensure their diet and supplements contain a few key ingredients. The first is zinc. Pumpkin seeds are a whole food source of zinc, an important co-factor decreasing the incidence of prostate enlargement. Pumpkin seeds help regulate urination and maintain the fluid balance in men. Studies have shown that pumpkin seeds contain phytosterols which are responsible for the shrinking of the enlarged prostate gland, and also contain chemicals which halt the conversion of hormone testosterone into the bad testosterone, DHT.
Saw Palmetto is an important herb and is used mainly to prevent benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), enlargement of the prostate gland in men. The plant sterols in Saw palmetto especially beta sitosterol acts to inhibit the growth of the prostate gland by interfering with the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, which encourages the production of the bad testosterone, DHT, linked to prostate disease and hair loss in men.

VitaMen’s Formula from VitaTree Nutritionals contains both these ingredients, as well as Maca for libido and stamina and Nettle for the prostate. For more info visit www.vitatree.ca.

Need More Energy? Try Whole food Anti-Oxidants

The most common complaint I hear in my naturopathic practise is lack of energy and fatigue. We no longer get all the vital nutrients and energy enhancing phytonutrients from our food. Our food has often travelled long distances to reach our plates, and often needs to be picked before it has reached it’s peak ripeness and nutrient density. Often produce is gassed in the supermarket to make it appear ripe for eating. Then we wonder why we don’t feel vital and alive even if we are eating “healthy” food.

The answer is supplementing with high quality whole food vitamins like VitaFruits and VitaVeggies from VitaTree Nutritionals. In this concentrated form, you get all your essential vitamins and minerals in an easy to take capsule. For more info visit www.vitatree.ca.

I’m often asked by many women why, if there are so many wonderful, effective natural remedies for menopause, their doctors are not telling them. The truth is, most doctors don’t even know about them. If they do know, they are skeptical that the herbs have not been tested thoroughly. Again, another misconception as many of the herbs for menopause have been tested in human studies for years in Europe. Herbs such as Chasteberry and Black Cohosh have a long, positive track record. They can help with hot flashes, night sweats, irritability, insomnia, and vaginal dryness. See my formula VitaWomen’s Formula from VitaTree Nutritionals as a natural solution for menopause.

The Dairy Debate

Many think that dairy products will help them to stave off osteoporosis because it contains a lot of calcium. Actually, dairy products do contain calcium, but it is not often well absorbed. Maintaining healthy bones has more to do with decreasing calcium loss from the body. The way to decrease the loss of calcium from our bones is to ensure we do not consume too many acidic forming foods and caffeine.
Coffee and soft drinks increase the calcium loss from our bodies. The best alkaline foods are raw fruits and vegetables. You can also take supplements like VitaFruits and VitaVeggies that have an alkalinizing effect on the body, keeping your calcium where it should be, in your bones!
For more details about the dairy controversy, read my book, The Healthy Millionaire.

Natural Remedies for Heartburn and Acid Reflux

The number of people who suffer from acid reflux or GERD and/or heartburn is staggering. Unfortunately the conventional medications called Proton Pump Inhibitors or PPI’s have serious side effects. Prevacid, Nexium and Pantaloc fall into this group of medicines. These PPI’s cause an increased risk in fractures and a nasty gastro-intestinal infection caused by a harmful bacteria called Clostridium difficile. Fortunately, natural medicine can help heartburn and acid reflux in a much less invasive way. Probiotics from a human source are the answer. Often people suffering from these symptoms have a deficiency of good bacteria in their digestive tracts. This imbalance then between good and bad bacteria can cause a whole host of digestive issues, including IBS, constipation, diarrhea and acid reflux. Probiotics are the good bacteria that help to crowd out the bad organisms in the digestive tract and often can solve the problem of acid reflux. For more info go to www.vitatree.ca.

Many men have a fear of developing prostate problems, and with good reason. The Canadian Cancer Society states: “Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian men (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer). On average, 490 Canadian men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer every week.” These statistics are frightening. Men need to take matters into their own hands in terms of prevention. Thankfully nature provides natural prevention and treatment options for men. Herbs such as Saw Palmetto and Nettle improve the health of the prostate. Probiotics are also essential to treat the dysbiosis or imbalance in the good and bad bacteria in the prostate. VitaTree Nutritionals will soon be launching their VitaMen’s Formula, which not only helps prevent and treat prostate disease, but also increases the libido.

Natural Cures for Migraines

Chronic headaches are a sign of toxicity and perhaps cranial restrictions that impede the proper flow of cerebral spinal fluid in the brain. Toxicity is common due to all the environmental toxins we are exposed to daily. If we do not detoxify our main internal organs regularly, these toxins build up and can cause headaches. Migraines are a more serious form of headaches and usually a sign of more toxicity. The organs that are toxic and related to migraines include the liver, kidneys and digestive tract. By doing a regular detox, at least 4 times per year, at the change of each season, this is one important step towards alleviating migraines and preventing them in the future. Craniosacral therapy and osteopathy are treatments that can help release restrictions in the cranium that can be a cause for migraines. For more information on detoxification of body, mind and spirit read my book The Healthy Millionaire, available online or at Chapters/Indigo.
